Fee Structure

Duke Aquatics (DA) is a 501-c-03 non-profit organization but we must charge for our services in order to offer the quality programs swim families expect. We do our best to keep dues and other fees as low as possible. We will be sending you a monthly statement and/or e-mail reminders to keep you informed on your account.  You will also be able to log on to the team website to view your account. Prompt payment is expected and greatly appreciated.

Duke Aquatics Dues
DA’s swim year runs from September 1 to July 31 (11 months). Billing begins on September 1. Dues for the summer months (June & July) differ from the other months (Sept through May). A discount of 3% will be given to those who pay the entire year in advance. Dues are based on the group allocation of your swimmer. DA coaches will assign your swimmer to a group, and may recommend group changes during the year. Discount Policy
1-     One-time payment for entire year – 3% discount if received by September 15.
2-     Multiple Swimmers – 10% discount for a 2nd swimmer from the same family, 15% for a 3rd, 20% for a 4th (applied to youngest swimmer’s dues).
3-   New Swimmer Referral – Receive $75 off your dues when you refer 5 swimmers who remain on the team for 4 months
 
Payment Due Date
Monthly payments are due on the 1st of each month. You may be charged a $10 late charge if a payment is not received by the 15th of each month. Advance payments are always welcome.  Please write the checks payable to “Duke Aquatics” and mail them to the team office:

Volunteer Hours
As we are a non-profit organization, families will be asked to contribute minimal hours of volunteer service. We have the biggest need for help at the three meets we host this year (in October, January, & February). Families are required to commit a minimum of 6 meet session volunteer credits plus 2 non-meet credits throughout the year.  For families who do not wish to volunteer, all 8 credits may be paid off for $600, or $100 per unfulfilled credit by July 31, 2011.  Parents are also encouraged to get involved with other fundraisers, socials, and activities that enhance the experience of your swimmer(s) & teammates.
 
Payment Changes
As a swimmer progresses and improves, coaches may recommend moving a swimmer to another swim group. In this case your bill will be adjusted to reflect the new group fee. Those who prepay for the entire year will receive an additional bill for the difference, adjusted to when the move occurred.
 
Surcharges
There is a $10 surcharge per swimmer/per month for age group swimmers who attend practice at the Homestead location.  There may also be a surcharge in the summer for use of additional long course pool facilities. Every effort is made to avoid these extra costs, but when they are necessary you will receive an explanation and as much notice as possible. 
 
Discontinuation
In case your swimmer chooses to drop out from the program or “take a break,” please inform us by the 20th of the month prior either by email (dukeaquatics@gmail.com) or phone (919-968-0303). You may be charged for the upcoming month if we do not receive any notice.
